Working Class Writers: New Commissions Poetry performances
Bristol Ideas, Lyra and Working-Class Writers Festival have teamed up to commission 12 poets from working-class backgrounds to write new work.
This hour-long showcase will feature Casey Bailey, Helen Sheppard (pictured), Malizah, 1990’s Chris, Bertel Martin, Tierney Elliot and more. We will hear poems from these writers and what the experience has meant to them.
The poems will be printed onto postcards and be given out for free at Lyra 2022 live events.
This event is part of Lyra 2022, a festival which brings together local, national and international poets and speakers, representing Bristol as a centre of world class poetry and booking artists from across the UK and world.
