Terms and conditions

Please familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions for our events.

Please make sure you also familiarise yourself with our Privacy Policy.

In-Person Events: Paid

Refunds are only available if an event is cancelled.

We advise booking tickets in advance for all our events. If an event is sold out, tickets may become available on the door but we cannot guarantee entry.

In-Person Events: Free

For free events we restrict the number of tickets that can be booked to one per transaction. This has been introduced in an effort to stop people automatically booking multiple tickets without confirming if they have guests to go with them. We hope this will help to limit the number of ‘no shows’ at the events, which currently run at around 35% of bookings. We are monitoring the situation. If you need more than one ticket, you can click on the booking link again. The little extra effort involved will hopefully put off those who don’t really need more than one, but not those who do. If you would like to bring a group to a free event, please contact us to arrange.

To combat the high number of ‘no shows’ we overbook our events by 10% and ask that ticket holders are in their seats 10 minutes before start to guarantee their place. Even with overbooking we can still have empty seats at our free events.

If you are on the waiting list for a ‘sold out’ free event, you are welcome to turn up a few minutes before the start of the event as we admit anyone waiting into the empty seats 5 minutes before the start.

Latecomers

Events start punctually and, out of consideration to other audience members and speakers, our policy is not to admit or issue refunds to latecomers.

Please allow enough time to collect your ticket/s from the relevant box office (if these haven’t already been posted to you), and make sure to arrive before the advertised start time to take your seats.

Accessibility

Bristol Festival of Ideas endeavours to hold its events in venues that are accessible to all, but if you have specific access concerns it is advisable to contact the venue direct.

Recording Events

We sometimes film and photograph Bristol Ideas events. Please let us know if you do not wish to be filmed or photographed.

Festival Updates

The programme is subject to change and speakers may be added or changed. Please check the website listing for any updates and we endeavour to contact bookers with any changes in advance where possible.
