Future City Publications

As part of the Festival of the Future City we have distributed a number of free publications, some of which are still available as downloadable PDFs.

Festival of the Future City 2015

For the first festival we produced a compilation of essays by some of the speakers and summary accounts of some of the events. The main themes were City Thinking: Past and Present; The Future City: The Challenges, the Opportunities; Nature and the City; The Arts, Creativity and the City; and a selection of case studies. Click on the button below to download the PDF (13MB).

Festival of the Future City 2017

For the second festival we produced a book addressing some of the key themes – including integrating urban infrastructure, healthy cities and urban mobility – and an updated version of our Bristol800 Book of Walks. Click on the buttons below to download the PDFs (from 4 to 6MB) .

Festival of the Future City

For the 2019 we gave away copies of books produced as part of the Homes for Heroes 100 programme: a comic book history of council estates; a collection of essays written by people who have experienced living in council housing; and a book of walks around four Bristol housing areas. Click on the buttons below to download the PDFs (from 4 to 19MB).
