Dan Taylor is a Lecturer in Social and Political Thought at the Open University, with a focus on British and political ideas.
He’s the author of three books, including Spinoza and the Politics of Freedom, Island Story: Journeys Through Unfamiliar Britain (shortlisted for the Orwell Prize in 2017), and a rather youthful and stroppy Negative Capitalism: Cynicism in the Neoliberal Era. He is a 2023 BBC/AHRC New Generation Thinker where he’s exploring what England’s arterial roads can tell us about the past, present and future.
